LifeMed Alaska fixed wing and rotor wing crews are comprised of a critical care flight nurse and a critical care paramedic. There are 2 rotor wing bases and 2 fixed wing bases. The fixed wing bases are Anchorage and Bethel. In the Yukon-Kuskokwin Delta (Bethel), the fixed wing flight team consists of two critical care paramedics. The rotor wing bases are Soldotna (south of Anchorage) and Wolf Lake (north of Anchorage). 100% medical direction and medical chart review is performed by the Medical Director and/or the Medical Specialists.

LifeMed Alaska flight crews are ready to respond within minutes to any patient requiring cardiac, respiratory, trauma, burn, neurological, surgical, medical, and pediatric, high risk obstetrical and neonatal care. Our flight crew responds to the following facilities: scenes including patient homes, clinics, and remote regional facilities. Inter-facility transport of the patients in our community to local and inter-state secondary and tertiary trauma centers and higher levels of patient care also are performed depending upon patient needs and resource allocations. Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Fetal Heart Monitoring and Isolettes are used in the transport of high-risk OB patients and Neonatal patients.
